Questions, answered

Before you
step inside.

Start with the fundamentals. For model-specific installation or technical questions, our team is available Monday through Friday.

01What is light therapy or phototherapy?

Exposure to daylight or lighting similar in composition to daylight for a defined period of time. SunSauna integrates this kind of full-spectrum illumination into the sauna ceiling.

02How does SunSauna’s light system work?

A patented overhead neodymium lightbox delivers more than 10,000 lux of daylight-like visible light while filtering out harmful UV rays. Light and heat can be controlled independently.

03Can outdoor light in winter provide the same effect?

Outdoor light remains valuable, but winter intensity, timing and weather vary. A consistent indoor system makes exposure easier to repeat. Ask a clinician for guidance on therapeutic timing.

04Does light therapy really work?

Light therapy is an established clinical tool for conditions including seasonal affective disorder, but outcomes and appropriate use differ by person. SunSauna does not replace medical care.

05Are there side effects?

Possible issues include eye strain, headache, sleep disruption or agitation. Stop if you feel unwell and seek professional guidance.

06Can I use the lights if I’m pregnant?

Speak with your healthcare professional before using light or heat therapy during pregnancy.

07When are the lights contraindicated?

Extra caution is needed with photosensitizing medication, light-sensitive conditions, certain eye conditions and some mood disorders. Ask a qualified professional.

08What is heat therapy?

The intentional use of warmth to promote relaxation and a physiological heat response. Sauna is one common format.

09What is far-infrared heat?

Radiant energy that warms the body more directly than conventional hot air. SunSauna’s IntelliHeat system combines near, mid and far infrared within a broad panel design.

10Why is infrared important to the body?

Infrared warmth raises skin and body temperature and can support circulation, sweating and muscle relaxation. It should be used with hydration and sensible session length.

11Can I combine SunSauna with yoga or exercise?

Only if you have adequate space, feel well and follow safe-use guidance. Heat changes the body’s response to activity, so start conservatively and stay hydrated.
